We have 2 Evergreen Solar panels 180 watts each, Tristar 60Amp Controller, 2, 400 watt Air-x wind generators, about 8 marine deep cycle batteries from walmart now. A 250A DC breakerbox from Midnight Solar, Xantrex DR-2412 2400Watt Inverter, and a Reliance transfer switch. So far the system has cost about 00 with everything overbuilt to be upgradeable with more solar panels as soon as we get some more funding! More videos soon lots has changed since winter has set in.

I’m just trying to get an estimate.
Base cost for wind turbine
Instalation costs?
Maintenance cost?
Again I’m talking about a 1-3 kw wind turbine

Answer by Gerryyou can purchase wind turbine that cost less than $ 150, you can install it yourself, i know a site that has free course video how to install it, and the mantenance depends what will be replace in the parts of the wind turbine..here check it out..

My father and his friends are trying to start a buisness building wind turbines, and we have been trying to figure out a good material to make them out of, that we can use recycled material Eg. milk jugs, cans, etc.
We have almost every resource you can think of and lots of different machines to work with. Cranes, everything.
Any suggestions would be very helpful, the reason they’re doing this is because they are being laid off as millwrights.

Answer by jackiepolmhomebuilt wind power generators can be built with just a few parts that you probably already have laying around your home.
If you want to power household items like TVs, washing machine etc then you will need an inverter. These are quite cheap though.
