San Marino, CA (PRWEB) February 06, 2012

Solar Eclipz, a Los Angeles, CA – based woman-owned start up announced today that it has entered Walmart’s Get On The Shelf contest in hopes of getting the patented ezShade on the shelves of Walmart.

Solar Eclipz manufactures the ezShade which is the only portable sun shield that blocks over 99% of cancer causing UVA and UVB rays and instantly attaches to any portable umbrella or canopy. Linda Varga has come up with a clever portable sun shield that helps to block reflected UV rays and instantly attaches to any portable umbrella or canopy. “By adding a vertical panel to your umbrella, you are able to block the reflected UV rays that your umbrella or canopy alone cannot,” explains Linda Varga. The ezShade attaches in seconds with the included peel and stick strips and provides critical protection for a product weighing less than 9 ounces. “I designed the bottom pocket with hook and loop fasteners so that the ezShade could be easily adjusted to the height of your umbrella or canopy. Once you adjust the pocket, you fill the pocket with sand, water bottles or towels to keep your ezShade from blowing in the wind and to stabilize your umbrella or canopy,” said Linda. The ezShade can be used anywhere sun protection is needed, such as the beach, park, sporting events, school, swap meets, open-air markets, etc. The ezShade is endorsed by the Melanoma International Foundation.

When asked what entering Walmart’s contest means to her, Linda enthusiastically replied, “This is an opportunity we could have only dreamed of. We are a start up company with very limited resources. While the ezShade is a great product and a great fit with Walmart’s customers, as a start up company we would never have gotten even a glance in our direction from the Walmart buyers. This contest changes everything.” Walmart’s Get On The Shelf contest will not only give small businesses, such as Solar Eclipz, the opportunity to sell their products at Walmart, but Walmart will help the winners meet the production demands of selling in Walmart. “In the past Solar Eclipz’s production limitations would have prevented us from selling the ezShade in Walmart. With Walmart’s assistance, limited production capabilities would no longer be an obstacle for Solar Eclipz,” said Linda Varga.

Like most small businesses, Linda and her husband Alex juggle family and full time jobs in addition to their start up, Solar Eclipz. “Solar Eclipz is your old fashioned mom and pop start up. My husband and I work our day jobs and fit in Solar Eclipz business during evenings and on weekends,” says Linda. But for a small grant from Kimberly Clark’s Huggies’ Mominspired Grant Program, Solar Eclipz is self-funded. “Selling to Walmart would mean we could invest our time in one job, Solar Eclipz, instead of having to split our man and brain-power between two full time jobs. ”

Want to help the ezShade make it to the shelves of Walmart? Check out their link http://www.getontheshelf.com/product/768/ezShade. Voting officially starts March 7, 2012, but before then you can show your support for the ezShade by forwarding the link and asking others to vote.

The ezShade is currently being sold at Toys R Us, Camping World and BuyBuyBaby.

About Solar Eclipz.

Solar Eclipz, headquartered in San Marino, California, was founded in May of 2007 by Linda Varga, wife and mother of two children, and her husband Alex Varga. Solar Eclipz is a woman owned start up that is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Counsel. Solar Eclipz is focused on increasing the awareness of the dangers of reflected UV rays and providing consumers with a means by which to safely enjoy the outdoors. Solar Eclipz received a grant from Kimberly Clark’s Huggies MomInspired Grant Program which provides grants for innovative mom invented products.

www.WindEnergyGuide.net - Super Easy Wind Power Generator For Home Use Getting or building a wind power generator for home use is quickly becoming an attractive option for many environmentally conscious homeowners. Alternative energy sources are looking quite feasible in helping to alleviate both environmental damage and fuel shortage related to the use of fossil fuels. If we manage to develop these budding fields properly, we may eventually wean ourselves off of our reliance on coal, oil, and gas. This will not only stabilize our power generation, but also result in many benefits to the environment as we use renewable, green ways of making energy. Thus, the need for a wind power generator for home use. These electricity generators are becoming more and more commonplace as people install more of them both on large and small scales. They are machines that can convert the natural breeze-induced mechanical movements into electricity. Thus, they only need this force of nature to produce energy, which is free, essentially unlimited or renewable, and all natural. This basic concept of harnessing the energy all around us is what lies behind any good renewable energy source. Some background on the concept behind using a wind power generator for home use would be useful to have. Generators work by transforming physical motion, usually rotation, into electricity using strong permanent magnets. Turbines then work on the same essential principle, using natural flows to turn blades ...

Question by Afro On A Stick: How can I make a composite material to build wind turbines with recycled material?
My father and his friends are trying to start a buisness building wind turbines, and we have been trying to figure out a good material to make them out of, that we can use recycled material Eg. milk jugs, cans, etc.
We have almost every resource you can think of and lots of different machines to work with. Cranes, everything.

Any suggestions would be very helpful, the reason they're doing this is because they are being laid off as millwrights.

Answer by Edesigner
Sorry about the layoffs...
If a guy had an unlimited supply of plastic materials he might find himself using a milk jug as a base material for a wind turbine. However to make a turbine work for a valuable amount of time at turbine speed there is a lot of thought in the middle. My suggestion to everyone who asks this is that they go look at what is actually out there now. Then go back and see what you have and find a reason to use yours instead of theirs. This goes for aluminum, plastic , steel, carbon from tires or milk jugs. If a guy could find a niche as a supplier of these component parts for another concern maybe that would be the best avenue to take. Making an effective wind generator is pretty tough. If you could just hang a prop on a pole everyone would have one out already. Its nearly that way now. In the future instead of 3 bladed monsters on the skyline look for horizontal mills that look like old push lawnmowers. they are much easier to work on and are just as efficient. The tilt up model will be vertical but will work in your backyard...A good millwright is hard to find ..good luck to to and yours...From the E...

Black Fork Wind Farm

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) January 25, 2012

Element Power US, LLC, owner and developer of the Black Fork Wind Farm, received its state Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need from the Ohio Power Siting Board for the construction and operation of the Black Fork Wind Project, a 200 MW wind farm located in north central Ohio.

Element Power has advanced the project through one of the most rigorous state-level permitting processes in the country. The project is located in Crawford and Richland Counties on approximately 15,000 acres of agricultural land. The approved permit allows Black Fork Wind to select from several turbine technologies giving the project the flexibility to utilize the most competitive technology and provide the best value to the end customer.

“We’re excited to be working together with Element Power and look forward to the economic benefits and tax revenues this project will bring to our county and community”, said Doug Weisenauer, Crawford County Commissioner.

The project now moves one step closer to construction with a commercial operations date as early as 2013 and is being actively marketed to customers throughout Ohio and PJM. Extension of the federal Production Tax Credit (PTC) and securing a power sales contract are key for the project to move to construction.

During project construction, approximately 200 people will be employed, providing a significant economic boost to the area, which has experienced a major loss of jobs from plant closures in recent years. During operation, the project is expected to provide 8-12 full-time jobs over its 20- year duration and provide $ 1.8 million per year to the local communities in tax revenue. In addition, the project will have the ability to generate enough clean electricity for approximately 55,000 homes.

“This permit adds the Black Fork Wind Farm to a short list of approved wind projects in the state of Ohio”, said Ty Daul, CEO of Element Power. “We feel that the elimination of the permitting uncertainty through the receipt of this permit, along with favorable interconnection access and wind resource, makes the Black Fork Wind Farm one of the most attractive wind projects in Ohio and we’re excited to see it help meet Ohio’s energy needs.”

Consistent with its focus on delivering electricity generated from both solar and wind at a competitive price, Element Power is developing utility-scale photovoltaic solar projects in Ohio as well.

Element Power US, LLC develops, acquires, builds, and operates utility-scale solar and wind power projects, creating clean, renewable sources of energy to meet the increasing demand for green electricity and to address the pressing challenges of global warming and energy security. Element Power is owned by Hudson Clean Energy Partners, a leading global private equity firm dedicated solely to investing in renewable power, alternative fuels, and energy efficiency and storage.
