0:44 shows a stack arrangement; can that be wired up and made to work as much as a panel on a hot day? The extra energy is just heat right?
Would it be better to focus light to a mirrored and cooled basement array of panels from a Fresnel lens?
And can the arrays get stacked in strands so that a larger cubic area than square area is used?
Has anyone developed night solar panels to work at night and in winter with the sensitivity of the electronics adjusted to suit low level inputs?
@OutbackKanga You are partially correct about the word (only some of the world pronounces it the traditional English way, particulary brit’s and british colonies), completely wrong about the shape of the earth (it’s not round), and sorely jealous of the United States of America. I’m still checking on the center of the universe thing, but I’m pretty sure it’s here.
@Aslapacrosstheface yea i bet the automation would be solar powerd 2 if not it would be ironic
The price of solar panels has decrease considerably since just a few years ago. I have 8 installed on my house and I have single solar panels to keep the batteries charged on my diesel generator and gas Onan generator. My house can run off grid if needed. You really should consider investing in solar NOW. Prices are good considering that you are making an investment. Forget about what people say about return on investment. The panels generate power immediately, saving you money…
@OutbackKanga Normal people? What would an Australian know about that?
@cheezus
You americans are so self centered , …the rest of the world pronounces it Soul-der
@fdsman Whatever it takes to educate a goddamm Yank
@OutbackKanga Gee who’s the moron now who wasted about an hour commenting back to people who posted months ago?
@161803 To sodder, verb; An act of soddering – ‘Sodomy’.
Those who engage in the act of ’soddering’ – Sodomites.
@frankfranklyn yep exactly same as tomatoe , the yanks say
too-mate-oh
the Aussie way is
too-mart-oh
@nathanxr All to true lolz
@magnafina Contrary to yankee belief the world is actually round not flat ! and America is not the center of the universe !!!! ……….. the rest of the entire world Including Australia
pronounces the world solder Soul-der .
@KOOLDAVE1953 Only yankees say it like that…. the rest of the world says Soul-der-ing ……..
@mpgrdh no its you Yankkes who are arrogant its Soul-der-ing
@161803
Whatever mate only Yanks with their head in the sand prononounce is sodder ,
Normal people pronounce it soul-der.
I hate it how god damm yanks think they are the center of the universe:P
@davidprahl2
Only if your a god damm yankee, the rest of the world says “soul-der- ing”
I work for a company called Siliken Solar, there is a production plant here in San Diego and i frame and test modules along with three other people. I dont know what is up with this plant making just 6 a day when we make around somewhere around 65 to 75 modules per day. but we do however work as a team of 15 people and there are 2 production lines at this plant.
its great to watch this and understand the begging of the process. Thanks for explaining this in such a simple way.
this is why coal still number one energy generator for this planet ..it is just to expensive to be green.
@Imforeverone88 Could you please tell me what equipments, fixtures, and raw materials have been used in this video?

It’s pronounced “soddering”, no “soul-dering”. I expected better from you, Discovery Channel.

@kuernodechivo
I am sure even the the Harbor freight version has a protection Diode. Anyway I have the Harbor Freight versions like they show in the video. I mainly use them for my Ham Radio gear and emergency lighting as float chargers for the deep cycles.
So I have been worried about whole back-feed issue in the event of a lightning strike or EMP causing catastrophic diode failure so I added very low-amperage fuses just barely over charging amperage- I know, kind of a shot in the dark.
@hotsexybrownguy
When I have built panels in the past a diode was necessary because as soon as the voltage in the battery became greater than the panel it discharged and made a weird looking stripe damaging the panel. I am still interesting in the authors opinion as well.
Another thought on the diode that has always worried me is whether it would be “spiked” and wrecked in the event of an EMP just when you would need your solar most. Sometimes when diodes fail they act as a dead short!
Hey, when making a solar panel, is a diode necessary to prevent current flow in the opposite direction at night? Or will a charge controller take care of this? I am in the process of making my own solar panel and am wondering if I even need a diode if i’m using a charge controller. Thanks
@Textra1 That’s what I mean, he can’t speak properly… silly bugger should be soldering not soddering.
@macspud28
No, he’s soldering. You can use the American ’soddering’ if you like, but I’ll be buggered if I will.
@Textra1 But surely he’s not soldering, he’s soddering……lol
is coffee what they’re calling cocaine these days.
This is a great video for someone to understand how solar panels work. Thank you.
5.08… LOL AT HOW MUCH HIS HANDS SHAKE, Otherwise, love itttt really good help, thanks (:
Im trying to find a place to buy cells like that but here in holland i cant find any
only complete sets… no doe-it-your-self
So cool how you do all this together! been following your channel for 2 years now! I’m sure you’ll have a TED talk one day! Keep up the good work!
its spelt ’solder’ – not ’sodder’
I’d sure like to get my fingers on those tits.
hot milf
nice info and nice titis
so much work…I suppose the titties are worth it.
hot i would hit it
Is that a cardboard sheet you’re working on? What is required to make a saudering iron work?
i liked 14:16
Very well done and funny that they can make mistakes and show them so I would try not too.
hey, it wolud be cdool if you guys showed us a vid on how to make a step up/step down voltage regulator for the solar panels; power inverters cost too much these days….
Great job I want more
yeah, i like the titties also.
I agree she has nice tities. She should do something that matters..and go to porn!
Really like the info and instructions. Keep up the good work. Thanks
