Question by Bill O: Alternative energy vs. drilling for more oil?
Is this a true statement?
If the US does more domestic oil drilling, the oil companies get richer.
If the US develops alternative energy (wind, solar, etc), this would create a whole new industry and create more new jobs.

Answer by Zach Twhy don’t we do both? drill for oil for short-term relief, while developing alternative energy for the long term.
the two aren’t mutually hostile situations, they can work with each other.

I am giving a presentation on alternative energy and need to find a good source of statistics, graphs, charts, diagrams etc to use. specifically, i will be referring to hydroelectric, wind and solar power.

Question by Yaakov the Gamer JPA Libertarian: Isn’t saying Africa can only have alternative energy supplies (Solar) saying that they can’t have any energy?
There was this documentary on Africa and their energy surplus. Apparently a local doctor has 2 solar panels on his house, but he has to choose between keeping the blood sample storage on and keeping the light on.
Isn’t that basically saying he can’t have any energy?
