Question by Lord Arawn: What are the options for domestic clean energy generation in India?
By domestic I mean a single house. We’re building a new one and would like to power it as much as possible with our own energy supply. I’ve heard there are companies that provide wind and solar solutions for homeowners. Any idea where to look for such in India? Also, are they cost-effective yet? How long to recoup the investment on average? I’m asking for actual power solutions, by the way, not things like water heaters and garden lights and such.
I’ve tried the Suzlon [...]

Question by Old Scout: Why do the Democrats support foreign oil companies over domestic oil companies?
The new energy bill proposal by the Democrats give foreign oil companies an unfair advantage over domestic oil companies. It just appears to make sense that if we used our own domestic oil and gas resources it would reduce our dependency on foreign producers. Why do the Democrats oppose that?

Question by jmulrain16: what is the optimal angle of tilt for a solar panel at 30degreesN latitude used for domestic water heating?

In the summer, the air is already warm, so you don’t need to be that efficient at collecting sun.
Also consider that the optimum orientation for hot water may not be due South, but may be more southwest, because the [...]
