Question by Dom13Marco: Is it possible to connect solar panels to a household outlet?
Can you take solar panels and connect them to a household outlet? This is so that you could plug in devices that would be powered by the solar panel. Btw, I do not mean to actually plug them into the outlet in a house, but if you could buy an outlet from a hardwaree store and use that.
What I mean is. Can you take a simple small solar panel that could be used to power a small fan or something, connect many together, use a device to [...]
Question by cmh0114: Solar Powering Household Objects?
I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with renewable energy lately, mostly with the kits you buy online for solar-powered cars and whatnot. My question is: how can you convert the electricity coming from the solar panel (positive and negative wires) into a standard household 120V AC current? Preferably DIY, but I’m open to buying some equipment, as long as it’s not expensive.

Answer by Nyayou will need to pass this DC current through and AC inverter.

Question by Jewlz: What household materials can we use to heat up water with solar power?
Like for example mirrors and stuff but what else??

Question by Bohemian_Garnet_Permaculturalist: New household wind turbine, VERY cool!?
Those who have read my Q/A before know that my husband works on the commercial wind turbines. You also know that we eventually plan to build our home totally off grid.
My husband is always doing research on homeowner sized wind turbines.
This is one my husband just learned about. It’s pretty darn cool! Basically it works a lot like the electric bullet trains. This allows the turbine to spin MUCH faster than most can withstand, because there is no friction due to the magnets!

Question by Joanie Mcsomething: How many solar panels do i need to have enough energy for a household per day ?
Best answer:
Answer by Sweet Ω AlabamaA 1-1.5 kilowatt system should produce enough power in terms of kilowatt hours to power a house for a day, however it will only be generating for at most 12 hours of the day so you will still have to consume power off the grid.
