I saw a story from the AP that reported Lowes had entered into a deal with Akeena to start carrying Andalay solar panels on the shelf in their stores.

It has started off in California but hopefully more and more stores will eventually carry them. I think this will be a big help in the price of panels eventually. If Lowes does well with them then more and more stores will start to carry them.

All we need is for some of the other big chains to get involved and hopefully the prices will start coming down as the competition increases. Right now these panels still have a price tag in line with what you would expect but hopefully the future will see some of the price rollback happening.
