Question by J P: Quickest (and least expensive)way to heat an above ground pool on a cool day? Solar Fish, Black Solar Heating?
Above Ground Pool. I am having a get together this weekend. The temp is going to drop into the mid 60’s. I hate to deal with the plastic solar covers (and I don’t think they work all that well). We have 2 Evergreen Solar panels 180 watts each, Tristar 60Amp Controller, 2, 400 watt Air-x wind generators, about 8 marine deep cycle batteries from walmart now. A 250A DC breakerbox from Midnight Solar, Xantrex DR-2412 2400Watt Inverter, and a Reliance transfer switch. So far the system has cost about 00 with everything overbuilt to be upgradeable with more solar panels as soon as we get some more funding! More videos soon lots has changed since winter has set in.

Answer by tipguyIt’s the same as if the solar panel wasn’t there. The energy turns into heat and light and is absorbed by the earth, oceans, and atmosphere.

Answer by Parsec KnightIve been using the same solar panels for 15 years, have move a few times so they last a lot longer than the roofs weve had over us. I am teaching my kids how to build wind generators, because we keep having power failiures when the wind blows. and recently its got very windy. I charge banks of battery’s and keep my office running from dc-ac converters.

Question by Assiduous Truth Seeker: Hydrogen or Solar Energy; which is most profitable frontier?
When it comes down to it, which would have a better market and wider consumer base. I was thinking along the lines of Hydrogen fuel-cell refueling station or solar panel installation business. There are strides being taken in hydrogen automobiles and also in solar technology and cost. So which is a better idea? Thanks for your help.

I am doing a physics experiment where I need to compare the efficiency of the two. Solar panel for radiation>heat water and solar cells for radiation>electrical energy.
Can anyone recommend me some cells and panels which have lots of information about their performance, efficiency etc?
