Question by Jim B: How could i start my energy/wind turbine company?
I am a 23 year old economics student. It is my ambition to develop a company that generates energy through offshore wind farm using wind turbines. It has not been attempted in my city (nor in my country) yet but the wind blows EVERYDAY! So much so that the town i live in is called the ‘windy city’. I always day dream of how successful this a company of this nature could become. Is there anyone out there with some solid advice for me??

Question by : Can I convert an electric start mower starter into a wind turbine generator?
I know that electricity is produced from a rotating magnetic current, and a rotating magnetic current is produced around an electrified wire. This starter is designed so that a shaft with copper wire coiled around it has a current passed through it creating a rotational magnetic field that spins the shaft. Is it possible for the rotation of this shaft inside of a magnetic field to produce electricity?

I have a Bachelors in Material Science and Engineering. No particular solar experience. I’ve been looking to get a masters at Univ. of Texas or another Texas University, but I’m not sure which degree would best help me get a job, if at all. What should be my next steps, I’ve been researching for a few days.
How would I go about getting a entry job in the solar industry, what type should i look for?

There is a market for green energy here in Mauritius. The central electricity board here has given some incentive -for the first 200 applicants CEB will purchase all excess energy produced at the rate of Rs 25.00 ( US $ 1) per KWh for fifteen years. I want to take advantage of this situation, i need a partner, either a company who can hire the system or give financial surport to those company who wish to get 1 set installed. – loan at low interest rate.
