Is there an index fund for geothermal energy ?

Question by BUNguyenI: Is there an index fund for geothermal energy ?
Everybody seems to be ignoring geothermal for “sexier” alternative energy systems like wind, solar, and nuclear. Geothermal, once relatively high fixed costs are overcome, is virtually free energy that lasts indefinitely and doesn’t depend on volatile energy sources like light or wind and doesn’t present the risks of nuclear. If we have the technology to drill deep into oceans for oil, why can’t we drill into the earth for heat?

I would like to invest into such companies that specialize in geothermal technology development and energy producing as I [...]

is there an alternative for solar panels that can collect and convert solar energy into electricity?

by Shira Golding

Question by yuiza: is there an alternative for solar panels that can collect and convert solar energy into electricity?
A solar panel is a device that collects and converts solar energy into electricity or heat which can be used by (for example) nearby buildings. But is there any device that acts like a solar panel?

Best answer:

Answer by Jordan SThere are different solar cell technologies around, such as solar cell paint, but they are all based on the same technology…

Q&A: Are there grants for alternative energy household sources (i.e. solar panels)?

by Barefoot Photographers of Tilonia

Question by Pixie: Are there grants for alternative energy household sources (i.e. solar panels)?
Our household electricity is going up 25%. Where we use about half the kilowatt hours than we did last year, we’re still paying about the same each bill, so I was trying to think of alternative energy sources (not gas). However, someone told me solar panels were REALLY expensive, and so was a small windmill (although I don’t think I could get a permit for a windmill, cause we have neighbors fairly close by). So, do you know of any alternative (viable) [...]

Home Energy Alternatives – Is there anything Better Than Solar / Wind Energy for Power Generation?

Question by Gatlin: Home Energy Alternatives – Is there anything Better Than Solar / Wind Energy for Power Generation?

Best answer:

Answer by Kyle TGeothermal is a common alternative but my own favorite is magnetic energy.

It’s a fascinating area of power generation, its use so far seen only in high speed train travel. For power generation, magnetic energy extends the idea of renewablility and gives it a cooler, cleaner twist.

It eliminates the need for expensive solar panels or large wind farms to generate electricity. Magnetic power can work in relatively compact spaces to power a home.

Q&A: Can I modify my car to use solar energy? Is there a kit?

Question by cutiepyne1: Can I modify my car to use solar energy? Is there a kit?
I have a car that runs on regular unleaded gas and would like to convert it to use solar E. Is there a kit available to make this possible?

Best answer:

Answer by David NYou could do an electric conversion for your car. It’s expensive. (link 1) You could also put a lot of solar panels on your home (if you own one) That’s very expensive. (link 2)
Then use the solar panels to charge your car.

True solar car look like toys. (link 3).
