Diesels won’t just run on vegetable oil without some processing of the oil.

LPG is under half the price of unleaded fuel. is veg oil or bio diesel as good compared? weblinks/sources pls. ta

im thinking about buying a volkswagen rabbit pickup diesel. i dont know much about cars but am trying to learn. if i buy one of these will i be able to work on it myself? are parts going to be available/affordable? i want to convert it to run on vegetable oil. is this possible on this truck? thanks.
